Linux users of Sony Z1 series

Hi -

Ok, I give up -- the recent flurry of posts seems to indicate that
S3/S4 now work on the Z1's using a stock Fedora Core 3 installation,
is that true?

I'm not clear up the differences between the Z1 models, but I just
upgraded my Z1VAP to FC3 and have spend 2 days messing around trying
to get either S3 or S4 working under FC3. Until yesterday, I was
running redhat-9 with a custom 2.2.24 kernel including swsusp2
patches. Swsusp2 actually worked pretty well.

Yesterday I upgraded to FC3, including all post-freeze updates via
up2date. That brings me up to a 2.6.9 kernel (plus a bunch of fedora
patches). The only thing I added was ifw2100 to get wireless working
(which, incidently, worked on the first try). Everything seems fine,
except suspending (both S3 and S4 fail).

Symptoms are as follows:

S3 (echo 3 >/proc/acpi/sleep or echo "mem" >/sys/power/state):

Machine goes into suspend mode (blinking power light), but on restore,
it dies badly. The screen's corrupted and the networking interface
never comes back up, so I can't ssh in or anything. In the end, it
requires a power cycle to restart the machine. I messed with
video_post (this model has a radeon chipset), with no luck.

S4 (echo 4 or "disk", as above):

nothing happens at all, even though dmesg indicates that ACPI thinks
S4 is available.

Can anyone who's gotten this working let me know exactly what they
did? Kernel options for booting? Unloading specific modules?
Pre-suspend or post-suspend programs to run? etc? I'll gladly
summarize what I get and post a little how-to or something.

Thanks a lot! I can't live without wither S3 or S4 .. If I don't get
it sorted out in the next couple days, I'll probably break down and
go back to rh-9 :-(
