Hi there,

i thought in making a hardware compatibility list. I think i have some
information that you dont have yet, but if you also have some news or
corrections, your post will be welcome :)

the only thing that does not work is native acpi S3 and S4.
Swsusp works but i dont like that. Except for that, acpi is working
absolutely flawless.

The rest of the hardware components works great.

I replaced the integrated mini pci wlan card with a dell truemobile to get
up to 54 mbit.
A sonypi developer once wrote me a kernel patch to get the p1 and p2 buttons
to work. The only bad thing is, that they send the same event to sonypi so
they behave as one. But i think better one working button than no one.
I wrote some scripts to get automated power managment like speedstepping,
brightness control etc. they react on acpi events.
I played around a little bit with some harddrive tools to avoid the clicking
sound you can hear if the pc idles, but i didnt have absolute success. I was
just able to reduce it, but i think thats ok right now. In windows you can
also hear that clicking.
Be sure to patch your kernel with the alps patch if you want to use the
synaptics touchpad driver in X.

Does anyone know is spicctrl really can bluetooth turn on and off or if it
just turns the blue light on and off?

Has anyone tested the firewire port yet? I have no fiwi devices but it would
be interesting anyway.

And does anyone know if the vaio is able to boot from an usb stick?
Sadly, it isnt able to boot from a memory stick.

So far ...

Greets,
nils
