Hi, guys,
Maybe this info would be of help to those of you who just installed Mandriva
2005 LE. I spent a lot of time trying to adjust MaxTapTime for synaptics
touchpad present in vaio Z1. I discovered that after each
boot synaptics section in /etx/X11/xorg.conf gets rewritten with default
values, in particular, my setting
Option "MaxTapTime" "0"
gets overwritten with
Option "MaxTapTime" "180"

The reason is that the default options are hardcoded in
/usr/lib/libDrakX/Xconfig/xfree.pm
so you need to change this file instead. I hope this is just a temporary hack
from Mandrake and soon we'll return to a canonical way of changing
xorg.conf...
Cheers,
Sergei
