Exlpained here :

/usr/share/doc/synaptics-0.13.6/alps.patch.gz
/usr/share/doc/synaptics-0.13.6/README.alps.gz

ipw2100 works for several centrinos and ipw2200 for others. So if your
computer works with 2100 it will not works with 2200. I think, but I'm
not sure that :
- if your laptop is 802.11b compatible, it's a ipw2100
- if your laptop is 802.11bg compatible, it's a ipw2200
- if your laptop is 802.11abg compatible, it's a ipw2915

Here is a 2200 on z1xmp series :

[zeemax@mana]/home/zeemax % tail /proc/pci
Bus 2, device 11, function 0:
Network controller: Intel Corp. Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG (rev5).
IRQ 9.
Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=3.Max Lat=24.
Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xd0201000 [0xd0201fff].

My 0.05 $can
