I've been patiently waiting for an rpm for sonyxosd to come out as it was
once prompted in one of your posts... ;-) Any chance to get it anytime soon? Or, perhaps, could there be a statically compiled package not to bother with all these perl stuff that merely exists packaged for Mandrake, for instance...

Hi,

I'm afraid that I use Gentoo only on my machines - the last RPM-based distro I used was RedHat 7.3...

However, if anyone (you?) want to have a go at creating an RPM yourself, then I'm perfectly happy to give you all the assistance I can!

As for the additional modules that sonyxosd uses - if your distro of choice doesn't include them, there's always CPAN. Of course, this isn't ideal for less experienced users, so perhaps the creation of an RPM featuring all the necessary modules from CPAN and sonyxosd would be a great idea...

On a related topic, there has not been an update to sonyxosd for a while now - but I'm just in the final stages of testing a new release. The new version reacts much more swiftly when audio feedback is enabled, and should be generally a lot more resilient. It's much better at not occasionally disappearing, as it sometimes does do right now.

I'm off on holiday for two weeks from this Saturday, so I'll try to make this new version available before then, along with an updated version of bluetool.

Keep an eye on http://www.sony-tools.homeunix.net/news.html for updates :)

Cheers,

Stuart
