Linux users of Sony Z1 series

Dear Stuart and Nicolas,
I've been patiently waiting for an rpm for sonyxosd to come out as it was 
once prompted in one of your posts... ;-) Any chance to get it anytime soon? 
Or, perhaps, could there be a statically compiled package not to bother with 
all these perl stuff that merely exists packaged for Mandrake, for instance...
