I have a Z1 that I like very well, but whenever I try to use the memory stick slot on it, it seems like it freezes the USB bus, and does not work. I am running kernel 2.6.10 on Gentoo Linux. Has anyone else had luck with using the memory stick slot on here?
No problem for me on gentoo 2.6.8 and .9
Just a little trick to be able to mount a memory card : http://vaioz1.iero.org/doku.php#memorystick3
Thanks for the reply and the thought, but unfortunately, my problem is not with getting the reader to mount the card. I get it mounted, it shows up in a "df -h" with the proper size, everything looks fine. I can even get correct directory listings from it. The trouble is when I try to actually move data. A second or two after starting a copy to or from the stick the usb-storage subsystem just stops responding, and will stay broken until I reboot. Any thoughts on that? My searches in Google have been in vain.
