Last weekend I had the opportunity to use the internal modem in my Z1RMP. I
had the slamr module installed and configured. There were no errors in dmesg
regarding slamr. But as others reported, there's no dialtone, no matter what
you do.

Then I installed the conexant driver "HSF" according to their manual on their
homepage. The driver uses an awesome installation procedure - never seen
something like this bevore. And - even more important- the driver works. It
is limited to 14.4kbit/s unless you unlock it for a small fee, don't know how
much (forgot it).

Well that seems to be the solution to winmodem on Z1.
