Hi,

It's done : http://vaioz1.iero.org

Good idea!! Thanks !!

I haven't plug all of my parts cause I'm a little tired...

The wiki is in free access. I hope there will not be any problem. I can
add a .htpasswd and I will add a robots.txt.

Well, lets play !

Greg.

Thanks a lot to Greg for his nice project. My English is too bad for
being of any help in translation.

But instead of a copyrighted text, what do you think of a WIKI?

Things are evolving very rapidly and the text will require many
adjustments. WIKI is a very nice way of updating texts. Anonymous (or
not) English natives could improve the text while reading it.

Greg's documentation might be a nice start.
Most of us have written WEB pages on Linux and Sony, and we could at a
low effort write sections in these common WIKI pages.

Any site for WIKI hosting?
Any experience of Wikipedia?

Nicolas

Hi guys,
Some of you have received this very old mail, a long time ago (See
on the bottom of this mail). Well I have begin to translate my large
french doc in a english one, for all kind of z1 computers. There
will be a lot of updates (with ipw2200 or suspend for exemple), some
differents parts for different distos, etc.

But It's a long work and I'm very bad in english.. So I will need
some help if somebody have some time..

The part I will not be able to write is the suspend mode (hibernate,
hard drive suspend and cie, with every tricks) because I will not
have enough time to implement it for the following months..

For the rest, I accepts any kind of help. I put the current sources
of the doc in attached files. I will put it on a cvs tree if some
peoples are interrested to participate.
See ya,

Greg.

ps : the complete but not current french doc is still evailable on
my web site : http://www.iero.org in publication part.

I guess if one translates this document into english and perhaps
add some other configurations with additional tips&tricks from
other people here, this will be a quite good reference.

For the community, an idea will be to write in common (together)
a complete documentation which cover all the different parts of
our z1 computers. It will be quick I think, because gnu/linux is
working very well on sony's computers.

Exactly... that's also the case why I've bought me this sony
instead of some other (and perhaps cheaper) laptop because almost
everything just works out of the box.
